Rotary International President Ron Burton's January 2014 Message2014 Float at the Rosemont Pavilion - Engage
Rotary/Change Lives - The 125th Rose Parade presented by Honda,
themed “Dreams Come True,” featured floral floats, spirited
marching bands and high-stepping equestrian units along the 5 1/2
mile route down Colorado Boulevard. Experience the magic of New
Year’s Day in an unrivaled celebration, exclusive to the streets
of Pasadena! I serve this year as the chair of the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee, an honor I will truly cherish as one of my Rotary highlights. I would like to personally thank the Rotary districts and Rotarians of Southern and Central California, and Nevada, for their continued pledged sponsorship of the Float and to all the Rotary Districts, Clubs and individuals Rotarians throughout the United States and Canada who also make donations and thus insure that this great public relations event is a reality each year. We are proud to announce that Rotary International President Elect Ron Burton will be featured on the 2014 Float, along with other Rotarians who exemplify the mission of Rotary to promote world peace through better understanding. The viewing audience for the Tournament of Roses, Rose Parade is an estimated 500,000 in pre and post parade viewing; 700,000 on the Parade route; 40 million television viewers in the United States and millions more in over 200 countries worldwide. We hope that you will also be a part of this unique public relations event for Rotary International. We are currently raising funds for the 2014 Float, and are in search of people willing to share in this unique opportunity to promote Rotary’s accomplishments to the millions of viewers around the world.
